US singer Justin Timberlake released from custody after DWI arrest
Pop star Justin Timberlake has been released from police custody after his arraignment on charges of driving while intoxicated (DWI).
The 43-year-old singer was arrested on Long Island and appeared in court on Tuesday, June 18.
Timberlake, known for hits like “SexyBack,” arrived at the Sag Harbor courthouse handcuffed with his hands in front, accompanied by his attorney and two others.
He was dressed in a black bowling shirt, light jeans, and white and baby blue Air Force 1 sneakers. His handcuffs were removed after the court proceedings.
A source close to the situation reported that Justin Timberlake appeared “a bit upset” during the arraignment. His wife, actress Jessica Biel, was notably absent.
According to TMZ, Timberlake faces one count of DWI and additional citations for running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 26.
A representative for the Sag Harbor Police Department confirmed Timberlake’s arrest on June 18 but did not provide further details.
Sources indicate that the incident occurred after Timberlake had dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. He was pulled over en route to a friend’s house, and no injuries were reported.
Attempts to reach Timberlake’s representatives for comment have been unsuccessful.
Currently, Timberlake is on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, promoting his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was. His upcoming concerts include performances at Chicago’s United Center on June 21 and 22, followed by shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on June 25 and 26.
Justin Timberlake recently celebrated Father’s Day by sharing a heartfelt message on Instagram to his sons, Silas, 9, and Phineas, 3½, with Biel. In the post, he expressed his deep love for his children, calling them his “2 greatest gifts” and thanking them for giving him his “biggest purpose.”
“I learn more about myself everyday just because you both chose me to be your Daddy,” Timberlake wrote. “I will always be there for you through your peaks and valleys… to lift you up and show you how high you can take this life and to pick you up when you fall. And, of course, to flood you with insufferable Dad-jokes all along the way.”
“I love you both so much,” he added.
