Transfer: Real Reason Messi Travelled To China Ahead Of Inter Miami Move

Lionel Messi arrived in Beijing, China on Saturday ahead of Argentina’s friendly match against Australia.

The 35-year-old’s arrival was confirmed in a post on the organising International Football Invitation’s official Weibo social media site.

 

Messi and his compatriots were seen in a video stepping off a plane, ahead of Thursday’s match at the Workers’ Stadium.

The 35-year-old is set to join Major League Soccer side Inter Miami as a free agent this summer.

 

This is the Argentina captain’s seventh visit to China and his first since 2017 and his arrival was a top-trending topic on Chinese social media Saturday.
