Korede Bello, Mr Macaroni, Wathoni, Others react to BRT Passenger’s Murder
Celebrities led by Korede Bello, Mr Macaroni and reality star, Wathoni have reacted to the murder of Oluwabamise Ayanwole.
Korede Bello, a singer and ambassador of the Nigerian Police Force, tweeted. “I will never understand how people can look so normal and yet be so evil! Are we ever really safe?
“I pray Bamise’s family gets justice for their daughter. This is overwhelming heartbreaking.”
Mr Macaroni tweeted: “Bamise’s story is so heartbreaking. It is even more worrisome that we don’t know how many people have suffered the same fate as her.
“For all we know there could be more to suffer the same fate and that is because it is hard to get justice in our society,” the actor, skit maker and activist said.
Wathoni prayed that those responsible for her death be apprehended.
“Bamise. May whoever is responsible for this pay,” she tweeted.
The late 22-year-old fashion designer went missing after she boarded a Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) service on February 26, 2022.
Oluwabamise boarded the state-owned transport service at Chevron Bus Stop, Lekki, en route Oshodi around 7 pm but never got to her destination.
But the whereabouts of Bamise was finally unraveled by residents around Ebute Ero in Lagos Island, who disclosed she was tossed out of a BRT bus half-naked with her private parts missing.
Confirming the news of her death, police spokesman, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, said her body was found on Carter Bridge by Ogogoro Community, Lagos Island.
This has sparked several reactions among social media users demanding justice for the late fashion designer.
