Rohr Makes Demand From Super Eagles’ Players After 1-1 Draw With Cape Verde
Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has called for improvements from his squad, following a 1-1 draw with Cape Verde in their final 2022 World Cup qualifier.
Nigeria took the lead through Victor Osimhen, but conceded an equalizer five minutes later.
The result was enough to send the three-time African champions into the play-offs.
“The improvement I want to see is for us to exploit the opportunities we have to score, to be more effective defensively and also play quicker from behind – it is still too slow from behind for me.
Our central defenders still take much time to take the ball forward. So, we have to work on that,” Rohr told the media.
Nigeria will face any of Ghana, Egypt, Cameroon, Mali or DR Congo for a place at Qatar 2022.
