In a recent video shared online, Banky W clarified that Wizkid’s tweet was sent out as a joke.
“That moment was actually a joke. We had actually been working together for well over a year. He had been signed, making music and releasing music and we were just being cheeky,” he said.

Furthermore, Banky W explained how Wizkid’s act of service has made him one of the most successful artists of our generation.

“I didn’t find Wiz from him tweeting at me, I found him working,” he added as he further clarified the inception of his relationship with Wizkid.

“The very first day that I met Wizkid, he was Kel’s Hypeman. We were all at a show myself, M.I, El Dee, Kel and Wiz was fafithfully serving as Kel’s hypeman.

“And even when Wiz started working with me, he was my Hypeman, my backup singer maybe for a year and a half.

“Now look at it today, Wiz has done more in the music business than anyone of us; than me, than M.I, than Kel, than El Dee, all of us who were at that show when i first saw him in person for the first time. But how did he get there, he started by serving,” Banky said about Wizkid in a passionate tone.

Wizkid signed a record deal with Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) in 2009. He rose to prominence after releasing “Holla at Your Boy“, the lead single from his debut studio album Superstar (2011).
