Police kill suspected terrorists, recover AK-47 in Katsina
Katsina State Police Command says its operatives killed suspected terrorists and recovered one AK-47 rifle along with 110 rounds of 7.62MM live ammunition.
They also recovered 60 sheep rustled by the hoodlums.
The command’s spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, who disclosed this in a statement, said the hoodlums had on the 15th August, 2023, in large numbers, invaded Korogo village via Daddara, Jibia LGA of Katsina State, shooting sporadically and eventually rustled some animals.
Upon receipt of the report, the DPO Jibia mobilized a team of Police operatives to the scene and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel, forcing them to abandon their heinous mission, disappearing into the bush.
However, while combing the scene, ASP Sadiq said, “the neutralized body of one of the suspected terrorists, sixty (60) rustled sheep, as well as one AK-47 rifle with one hundred and ten (110) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, were recovered. Investigation is ongoing.”
